There was a record turnout of 50 teams at the Hartley Inter-club Relay on Sunday.
Arbroath Footers had two teams competing in the event, Born to Run and Kelly’s Heroes. Hosted by Forfar Road Runners, each runner had to run a 1.34 mile loop by Forfar Loch twice.
Margaret Gregory, Emma Gauld, Natalie Burgess, Kelly Bennett, Fiona Robb, Jacqui Treays, Alec Campbell, Jagoda Penkala, Chris Elliott, Pamela Brandie, Tina Fowler, Lynn Hastie and Jayne McKay all ran and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
The Glen Clova Half Marathon was run in very cold and frosty conditions. Despite this Footers recorded good times as follows: Andrew Hartley 1.25.38, Ian Beattie 1.33.39, Chris Elliott 1.38.35, Jagoda Penkala 1.46.21, Linsey Burnett 2.03.56(PB) and Tina Fowler 2.04.10.
Rachel Hurst ran her first 10km at the RNLI Reindeer Run at Glamis Castle in a time of 1.24.55. Sandy Burgess ran the hilly Templeton 10-mile race in 1.25.07. Two Footers ran the Dublin Marathon, Chris Elliott 3.59 and Jagoda Penkala 4.04.
