Kingennie angling

Despite the weather the fishing has been very good this week at Kingennie.

Cold winds mixed with sleet and snow showers have kept things fairly quiet, but the anglers who have braved the conditions have been rewarded with some cracking sport and some fine fish.

On the boathouse a good mix of fish have came out with a good number of fish either just under or just over the 10lb mark.

Lures have taken the biggest number of fish but the more natural approach has also seen a lot of fish on the bank.

On the Burnside pool various methods have done well but the most consistent method has been buzzers or bloodworm fished under a bung, lures on intermediates have taken fish but the more static tactics have worked better.

The Bankside has also fished well this week, but the fish are switched onto fry feeding hard now and small fry have been seen to break the surface as the trout crash into them.

On the Woodside any method pond, powerbait fished under a float has been the best method but spinning is also starting to produce a few fish with tiny mepps being the spinner of choice.

The last couple of places are available for the competition on December 27. To put your name down get in touch with the sports department on 01382 350777 extension 5 or 350213.
