KINLOCH are this year’s winners of the Clubsport Indoor Sixes League and have become the fifth different club to win the competition in its five-year history.
In the final at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, last Wednesday evening, they defeated Arbroath United by nine runs to claim the title for the first time.
The play-off for third place was won by defending champions Rossie Priory, with hosts Dundee High School FP having to settle for fourth.
Forfarshire failed to qualify for the latter stages of this year’s competition, having finished seventh in the round-robin table.
A sportsman’s dinner held recently at the Woodlands Hotel, Broughty Ferry, raised £3,000 for Forfarshire funds. Senior nets have now started for the new outdoor season and will take place at Forthill on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursdays from 7 to 8.30 p.m.
Coaching and practice sessions for junior age groups will commence as follows: under-8s, under-10s and under-11s on Mondays 6.30 to 8 p.m. from May 2; under-13s on Thursdays 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. from April 21; under-15s on Mondays 6 to 8 p.m. from April 18; under-18s on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. from April 19.
