KINGENNIE experienced a mixture of weather during the week and catches followed a similar pattern.
The Boathouse started slowly but had an excellent return on Sunday when 13 fish were taken for an overall total of 70lbs.
Pride of place went to Hugh Bairner with four rainbows for 21lbs 8ozs, followed by Mr. Thompson who took two fish for 13lbs 8ozs. Overall the most successful patterns were small green and black lures.
Burnside improved as the week went on with Flavio returning eight fish on the catch and release option. Small lures and buzzers were top methods.
The any legal method/bait pond (Woodside) had two days which stood out from the rest.
On Monday Joe Higgins took seven rainbows on a spinner with the overall total for the day being 10 fish for 16lbs 4ozs. Sunday was also an extremely rewarding day with 19 fish being landed for a combined weight of 31lbs. Green powerbait was again top bait but other colours of powerbait also did the trick.
The Bankside Pool went through some sulky patches but did have some decent results. Richard Marshall returned six fish on a Hare’s Ear, with green and black lures again featuring prominently in many catches.
THIS week’s visitors were R. Ferguson, from Forfar, who caught three, returned one and kept two weighing 5lbs on lures, Gordon Skelton from Arbroath caught and kept two weighing 4lbs on a bloodworm.
J. Thomson, Montrose, caught eight, returned four and kept four weighing 9lbs on a bloodworm. Mr Shepherd, from Newport on Tay, caught and kept three weighing 6lbs 8oz on lures.
On catch and release were: Ally Stewart from Dundee who had over 20 on lures, F. Robertson from Forfar 14 on blobs, Andy O’Rourke from Dundee, on lures and buzzers, Wayne Scott from Dundee, 10 on a bloodworm, Bruce Thomson, Arbroath, eight on buzzers, G. Smith from Forfar 10 on bloodworm, Dave Mooney from Dundee five on lures, Dave Roy from Barnhill seven on buzzers, his biggest a rainbow of 15lb, Scott Watson from Muirdrum six on lures, his biggest and personal best was 16lbs 4oz, Mr Clark from Forfar eight on buzzers, Frank Ferrier from Arbroath five on lures, G. Coyle from Dundee 10 on a cats and bloodworm, G. Cooper from Dundee three on a bloodworm and D. Bange, Dundee, four on lures.
