Kirkcaldy gained a foothold deep in home territory and from turned over ball broke down the defence to touch down and convert.

From the restart FPs lost a line-out enabling the Fifers to set up a series of drives to again touch down and convert. From the restart Kirkcaldy fielded and ran wide before chipping down the wing for the winger to gather in acres of space and run to the touch-line but with no conversion.

The visitors fielded the restart but Carnoustie forced a scrum which they won to set the backs in motion for Ian Wood to cross and Tony Coffield add full points.

Dean Nicholson broke down the wing and when challenged passed inside to Bryan Patterson who touched down but with no points added. The whistle went for half-time.
