Carnoustie West End

It’s been a good week for the West End Bowling Club. Both representatives in the regional Scottish competition won their games on Thursday night. Ryan Burnett in the Under-25 singles and Mike Black in the singles are through to the semi-finals hoping for a win to take them through to the regional finals at Broughty Bowling Club.

On Friday night the West End played host to Newgate Bowling Club in the Angus League. A large crowd was entertained by some superb bowling from both teams. The defending champions set off at a breakneck speed and soon had total command of the game. Newgate however fought their way back into it and the West End were hard pushed to hold on and collect the points by winning by 6 shots overall.

On Saturday a team travelled to Arbroath for their annual friendly fixture against Abbey Bowling Club. On the hottest day of the year so far the Westenders found the opposition also to hot to handle and lost out by 14 shots.
