New coach needed for cricket development

THE ANGUS Cricket Development Group and Cricket Scotland are working together to employ a new community coach who will deliver cricket activities in selected local schools.

The new coach will help to increase the number of children and young people who have the chance to play cricket.

They will also work with local cricket clubs to ensure that there are opportunities for youngsters to develop their interest and skills in a club environment.

The appointment of the community coach has been made possible by a creative partnership between international, national and local organisations which share an interest in developing the sport of cricket.

The Angus community coach will work with all members of the Cricket Development Group to provide in school and after school opportunities to participate in cricket.

The coach’s work will focus in on parts of Angus where this type of opportunity would not otherwise be available.

Applications for the post close in mid-January and if all goes according to plan, the first coaching activities will take place in late February.
