Panthers rise from the ashes!

THIS season didn’t start well for the Panmure Panthers, with a mass migration of players and helpers to another of the city’s rugby clubs, leaving only a nucleus of players at Forthill.

Panmure Rugby FC is committed to their youth rugby programme and in an effort to increase numbers and level of coaching on offer they and have recently secured the services of volunteer head coach Nick Leitch, who qualified with an HND and HNC in sports coaching and development from Elmwood College, Fife. He has also attained a number of specialist qualifications to match, and has a considerable amount of experience coaching sports including rugby.

Both the club and Nick are keen to rebuild the Panthers and the youth section.

A club spokesman said: “We would like to thank the commitment shown by out current mini rugby members and encourage anyone who has thought about playing rugby to come along to our training sessions held between 1 and 2.30 p.m.every Sunday. We welcome, boys and girls so come on down and give us a try.”
