Park becomes second player to score 64 and takes lead

INBEE Park leads the Ricoh Women’s British Open after becoming the second players to record a 64 today.

The South Korean recorded nine birdies and one bogey in her excellent round over Carnoustie’s Championship Course.

She leads the tournament by two strokes from fellow countrywoman Se Ri Pak, who also scored 64 over the famous links.

Overnight leader Meena Lee, who is not out until 3.17 p.m., lies three strokes back at -7 along with defending champion Yani Tseng who had a six under round of 66 to haul herself right into contention after a first round of 71.

Home hopes appear to lie with Catriona Matthew who is three under through nine at the moment, while Janice Moodie had a fine five under round of 67 to go two under for the tournament.
