Personal best for Eilish

CARNOUSTIE’S Eilish McColgan, Dundee Hawkhill, posted a personal best at the British Milers Club Meeting at Stretford Stadium, Manchester on Tuesday evening. In a mixed 3,000 metre race, in windy conditions, Eilish was the first female and seventh overall in eight minutes 58.33 seconds, 17 seconds inside her previous best when she won the Scottish Universities title in April. The race was won by Josh Tighe, Salford in 8:40.77. She now goes on to New York to run in the 5th Avenue Mile Race on September 22.
