Racketball sessions this summer

FUNDING from the Scottish Goverment’s CashBack for Communities programme is bringing the sport racketball to Arbroath and Carnoustie.

Both the CAFE Project in Arbroath and Carnoustie Leisure Centre will be holding sessions in one of Scotland’s fastest growing sports.

The sessions start in Arbroath on Monday, July 4 from 4 p.m. and then in Carnoustie on Tuesday, July 5 at 4 p.m.

The courses run for six weeks throughout the summer and are free for 10 to 19-year-olds.

Hamish Fairweather, who will be leading the racketball sessions at the CAFE Project said: “Racketball is great fun, great exercise and a brilliant a way to keep fit.

“We are delighted to be working with Scottish Squash and Racketball to bring racketball to Angus.

“The small tasters we have delivered in the area have shown how much fun the kids have bashing a ball off a wall and I can’t wait to see their reactions when we get them into a four walled squash court.”
