Barnhill Club

There were excellent wins for Barnhill in the Bowls Scotland District 5 qualifiers triples and rinks, but they lost out in their latest Specsavers Angus League, Division Two match.

Broughty Castle

Broughty Castle remain unbeaten in the Specsavers Angus League, Division Three, after a narrow victory over Carnoustie.

Broughty Club

In the Spence Triples final on Sunday, the winning team of Brian Makin, Dorothy McGrory and George Motion defeated the team of John Grocott, Maureen Cameron, Stewart Christie.

Elsewhere it was a disappointing week for Broughty, with only a win in the Guthrie Fours and the District 5 Senior Singles.

Carnoustie Club

Carnoustie suffered their second successive defeat in the Specsavers Angus League Division Three on Friday at the hands of Broughty Castle. Tonight (Friday) they visit Longforgan in their next league fixture.

They suffered their first defeat in the Senior League by the narrowest of margins on Tuesday at the hands of Letham.

Carnoustie West End

Carnoustie West End (2) retained the Hunter Cup on Tuesday night when they defeated Newport BC at Strathmartine by 16-11.

Thursday night saw ‘Scottish’ duties and results were mixed. The singles and fours joined the triple on the sidelines but the junior singles and pairs pushed on to reach the next round

West End travel to Newgate today (Friday), in what should be an exciting game as Newgate are the joint leaders on points.

On Saturday, West End were guests at Hillcrest BC but the weather was the winner and not a bowl was played.

Only two matches were played in the City of Dundee Bowling Association Senior League on Tuesday afternoon.

Monifieth Bowling Club

There was another good win for Monifieth in the Specsavers Angus League and the Triples, Rinks and Senior Rinks won through to the next round of the Bowls Scotland District 5 Gents Competitions.

The ladies reached the semi-finals of the Senior Singles with a good win over Newgate.
