Kingennie

THE FISHING this week at Kingennie has been excellent if not a little difficult. The water on all ponds is gin clear which has forced anglers to refine their approach.

On the boathouse pond a few of the bigger fish have come out with Joe Westland adding to his recent hauls - he has managed to tempt 2 doubles since the turn of the year - with fish of 12lbs 4ozs and his new pb, a rainbow of 13lbs 11ozs.

Most fish coming off the boathouse have been caught on black and green lures fished on intermediate lines.

The Burnside continues to fish well with anglers taking fish on a wide range of flies and lines, fishing floating line with dries and emergers and blobs and lures on sinkers and intermediates.

The backside is mainly fishing to small natural flies fished in the top couple of feet of water. Water clarity is very good with anglers really having to scale down on fly size and leader diameter.

The Woodside pool has not been to busy with bait anglers but those who have fished have had good returns with green powerbait fished
