Forthill v Perth Doo’cot

Perth Doo’cot got off to a good start with Ferguson (52) and Wilson (31) taking the score past 100 for the loss of one wicket. Sam Tilston returned to action and took four for 50 to help restrict Doo’cot to 193 all out.

In the run-chase, Forthill made steady progress with Graeme Garden (73) and Lachlan Tosh (20) seeing the 100 up, but three quick wickets for Wilson (three for 19) brought Doo’cot back into the game and the remaining home wickets fell cheaply to see Forthill all out 21 runs short of target.

Montrose v Forthill 3rd XI

Forthill 3rd XI collected a well deserved 25 points at Union Park, Montrose, on Sunday when they successfully defended a modest 99 for six after Rory Johnston and Christian Robertson both hit 26 on a ground where boundaries were hard to find due to the long grass.

Blair Walker trapped home danger man Christie lbw for the first of his three wickets. Fraser Ross then picked up three wickets in two overs and along with two for Rory Johnston, this saw the young Forfs closing in on a second league win. The experienced Thorogood had other ideas, punishing any wayward delivery, and looked set to swing the game back in Montrose’s favour, but Connor Wilson claimed the match-winning wicket when a mis-timed pull found the safe hands of Fraser Ross at mid-on.

Forthill 3rd XI 99 for six (R. Johnston 26, C. Robertson 26), Montrose 69 all out (F. Ross three for 10, B. Walker three for 23)

Result: Montrose, 4 points, lost to Forthill 3rd XI, 25 points, by 30 runs, Clubsport Strathmore and Perthshire Union Division 3.
