Season rounded off in style at Forthill

FORTHILL XI marked the end of the season with a games and curry night at Forthill.

Team captain David Sim remarked it had been an encouraging season with many excellent individual performances that had combined to see the team challenging for first place in Clubsport Strathmore and Perthshire Union Division Two and still being in the hunt for promotion at the time of the function.

This season’s Forthill XI player-of-the-year trophy was awarded to Adam Hill, who had contributed just short of 500 runs and deservedly reached 100 for the first time in the penultimate league fixture. He had also taken 12 wickets during the season.

Meanwhile, on the final weekend of fixtures, Forthill XI played an away friendly against Largo at East Drive. The hosts batted first and posted an impressive 188 for seven from their 40 overs to which the Broughty Ferry visitors could muster only 92 all out in reply.
