‘Shire on the sidelines

FORFARSHIRE again sat out the latest series of matches in the Clubsport Indoor Sixes League at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, last Wednesday, February 9, but remain seventh in the table.

Double winners on the night were Dundee High School FP, who defeated Strathmore by 70 runs and Cupar by 42 runs.

Arbroath United and Cupar both had one victory each, but Strathmore drew a blank.

Results: Dundee High School FP 155, Strathmore 85; Arbroath United 98, Cupar 105; Arbroath United 128, Strathmore 88; Dundee High School FP 129, Cupar 87.

Forfarshire are next in action on March 2 against Cupar and defending champions Rossie Priory.

Tickets are now on sale for the club’s 2011 sportsman’s dinner to be held in the Woodlands Hotel, Broughty Ferry, on Friday, March 25, 7 for 7.30 p.m.

MC for the evening is Dr Tom Dymock with after-dinner entertainment provided by guest speakers Bill Barclay and Frank Robb.
