CARNOUSTIE Claymores Swimming Club held a sponsored swim at the beginning of June to raise money for club funds and for the charity Caring Matters Now which funds research into Congenital Melanocytic Naevus.

The rare condition means that areas of skin can look like a red wine stain birthmark or an extended mole. The charity funds research.

For the sponsored swim, participants swam in relays to cover 600 lengths of Monifieth High School swimming pool in just one-and-a-half hours. They realised just over £1,200 of which £280 - comprising 25 per cent - was donated to Caring Matters Now.
