Arbroath Tennis Club is looking for the grandslam to complete their fund-raising for an all-weather pitch.

The club is just shy £30,000 of the total needed to replace their three clay courts, which are past their best, with an all-weather artificial court and floodlights at a cost of £180,000.

Recent leading lights of the 105-year-old have included Johnny O’Mara and the club works extensively with local schools.

Work could start as early as next March if they can raise the deficit, with a Just Giving page and text link now set up to take donations.

Anyone who wishes to donate should go to https://www.justgiving.com/arbroathtennisclub/. People can also text ALTC40 and an amount to 70070.
