GOING into the festive break, the league championship is almost certainly a two-horse race.

Leaders Stag top the table by two points from defending champions All Stars with Corner now a distant third.

EIGHT venues were used for the preliminary stages of the annual singles competition on Monday night.

Qualifiers for the final later in the season were:

At Doc Ferry’s - A. Muir, Eagle, and P. Coughlin, Royal A;

At Eagle - A. Buick, Occidental A, and D. MacIntosh, Occidental A;

At Gunners - C. Kirkcaldy, Eagle, and M. Steele, Vault;

At Occidental - T. Ferguson, Occidental A, and G. Monteith, Crown;

At Royal - P. Whyte, Doc Ferry’s, and A. Morrison, Vault;

At Vault - J. Lynch, Royal A, and A. Dodds, Occidental A.

There will be no matches on December 20 or 27.
