THE A.C. Sturrock pairs were held at Carlogie Dam Fishings on Sunday with the maximum of 20 fishing for the trophy.
The winning pair comprised Steven Duncan and Fraser Robertson, both from Forfar, who caught 18 between them weighing 49lbs 4ozs.
The runners-up were Dave Moodie and Colin Fairweather, both Carnoustie, who caught 17 between them weighing 45lbs. Third place went to Dave Roy, from Barnhill, and Bruce Thomson, Arbroath, who caught 15 weighing 44lbs 8ozs. In fourth were Dave Simpson and Mac Clark, from Forfar, who caught 16 weighing 42lbs 2ozs.
Walt Senior and Dave Wood, from Aberdeen, caught eight weighing 19lbs 8ozs, Jock Ewing and Jim McGuire, from Aberdeen, caught nine, weighing 22lbs 2ozs, Derek Birse, from Forfar, and George Nicoll, Carnoustie, caught 8 weighing 19lbs 8ozs, while Ian Duncan and Raymond Winter, both Forfar, caught five weighing 12lbs 6ozs.
Other returns were Raymond Ferguson, from Forfar, who caught six, returned four and kept two weighing 9lbs, his best weighing 5lbs 8ozs which he returned. Tony Fenemore, from Dundee, caught 14, returned nine and kept five weighing 12lbs 12ozs on hoppers and buzzers. Jim Tait, Forfar, caught nine, returned four and kept five weighing 19lbs on lures, his best a rainbow weighing 8lbs. Eric Coutts, from Dundee, caught six, returned four and kept two, weighing 4lbs 8ozs on lures. D Whitecross, Broughty Ferry, caught six, returned four and kept two weighing 4lbs on lures.
