Kingennie landings

FISHING at Forbes of Kingennie has been effected by the wind, but those who braved the conditions were rewarded with some good catches.

The Bankside has been the most consistent pond with some great buzzer hatches coming off when the weather has warmed up. Buzzers have caught a lot of the fish this week but the wind has made controlling them very difficult, which is why most anglers have resorted to lures on an intermediate.

Mr Simpson caught and released 21 fish on yellow dancers on Saturday.

The SANA Stillwater Championship qualifier was held on the bankside on Sunday with 26 anglers landing 96 fish in some extremely difficult conditions. The winner was Scott Pozzi who landed 14 fish.

The boathouse has remained clear making the fishing challenging. The top fly has been a small damsel but most methods are picking up fish. Mr Bairner took four fish for 19lbs 9ozs on Saturday with one fish being a 4lbs brownie

The Burnside has held a wee bit of colour but is clearing well. Fishing lures into the wind has been the best method with the orange blob and a black and green fritz being the preferred flies. Young Shawn Gowans took two fish for 4lbs on lures on Saturday and returned another five.
