SEVERAL of the world’s best female golfers have already started to descend on Carnoustie in time for the start of the Women’s Open on Thursday.

The Links will be hosting the competition for the first time and some of the competitors are eager to practice to prepare themselves for the Championship Course challenge.

On Saturday, 2010 US Open champion Paula Creamer played the course with the golf links professional Colin Sinclair.

And the American, who is known for her love of the colour pink, was back again on Sunday, this time playing with Carnoustie Ladies’ Katy McNicol.

Later on Sunday, world number nine, Australian Karrie Webb played alongside Colin Sinclair and Ailsa Summers.

When the Open begins on Thursday (July 28), all of the women inside the top 15 will be competing at Carnoustie in the tournament.
