No jackpot winner

THERE was no jackpot winner when the weekly Gowfers’ Gamble draw was made at Laing Park on Monday evening.

The numbers drawn were 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 10.

Consolation prizes of £20 were won by D. Greig and G. Suttie, both Carnoustie.

The jackpot for the draw on Monday (May 7) will be £2,000.


First race of new season

CARNOUSTIE and District Racing Pigeon Club held their first race of the season on Saturday. The liberation point was Arniston and three members sent 37 birds.

Leading velocities in yards per minute were: 1, Les McKay 967.231; 2, Les McKay 953.589; 3, Les McKay 904.154; 4, Ken Gourlay 871.194.


Win for Panmure under-15s

PANMURE Youth FC under-15s’ game against Kirriemuir was even until midway through the first half when BRANNAN MILLAR scored from a free kick to give Carnoustie the lead.

The second half was more of the same until the last 10 minutes when Kirrie were unlucky with a shot which came back off the crossbar. Carnoustie were then awarded a free kick which was knocked home by JAMES MORROW.

Results: Under-15s - Kirriemuir Youth 0, Carnoustie Panmure 2; Under-13s - Dryburgh Athletic 4, Carnoustie Panmure 1.
