‘Shire aim for finals night

WITH two weeks of qualifying matches remaining, Rossie Priory and Kinloch have already booked their places in the Clubsport Indoor Sixes Cricket League finals night at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, on Wednesday, March 27.

Two places are still up for grabs and are being keenly contested by Strathmore, Arbroath, Dundee High School FP and Forfarshire. Glenrothes and Largo are both out of contention for another season.

Results: Glenrothes 103, Strathmore 74; Kinloch 75, Dundee High School FP 54; Kinloch 118, Glenrothes 65; Dundee High School FP 85, Strathmore 101.

FPs must be on top form

TOMORROW (Saturday) Carnoustie High School FP Rugby Club is away to Harris in the RBS Caledonia Regional League Division Two Midlands.

Harris currently sit fourth in the league and won by 30 points in the last meeting between the two clubs in October. This will be a difficult game for Carnoustie and they will have to be in top form to take anything from the match. Kick-off is at 3 p.m.

Carnoustie Rugby pre-match lunch for former players and friends is on March 23 which is the last home game of the season. Details are on the website or at the clubhouse.

Gowfers’ Gamble

THE GOWFERS’ Gamble jackpot was won by an Arbroath ticket holder when the draw was made at Laing Park on Monday evening.

The prize of £1,250 goes to W. Myles. Numbers drawn were 1, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 18.

The next draw is on Monday (March 18) when the jackpot will be £500.
