Monifieth Tennis Club is holding an Open Day tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Tartan Day.

The new committee comprises: Melanie Atkins, chair; John Dunn, vice-chair; Jillian Latto, treasurer; and Tiffany Jeffrey, secretary. Committee: Bob Campbell and Paul Atkins.

It was decided at the last committee meeting and after lengthy discussions with parents and Tennis Scotland, to do away with membership fees and open the club to all again.

This puts added pressure to raise money from other means to pay for club expenses and donations for the coming year would be welcome.

If you wish access to the courts fill in a membership form and you will be issued the key-code for the gate. The form allows the club to keep records up to date and you can be included in any Wimbledon or other ticket ballots that may come through the LTA/Tennis Scotland.

The form can be accessed online or by calling 07920 745916 or e-mailing

Once you have the code you can play anytime. Classes will run as normal at 10 a.m. for young juniors and 11 a.m. for the over-12s). A set fee of £5 a lesson will be introduced.
