WITH the start of the new season fast approaching, further details of Carnoustie Panmure’s pre-season friendlies have now been issued.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the Gowfers had originally intended facing a Dundee United under-19 side at Laing Park, but with the contractor, who has carried out extensive work on the playing surface, advising that the pitch should be left for another week, attempts were made to switch the game to the St Andrews University facility where United do much of their training. This, however, had already been booked, so the fixture has been postponed and will now be played at Laing Park on Saturday, August 18, with a 2 p.m. kick-off.
Next Saturday, July 28, at 2.30 p.m. Carnoustie will play host to Milton Amateurs, who play in Division Two of the Stirling and District League, and the following week, Saturday, August 4, Carnoustie YM are the visitors with a 2 p.m. start.
Manager Ian Gilzean has been trying to fix up a replacement away game for tomorrow, but should he fail to do so, the players will have an extra training session.
Some good news for fans is there has been no increase in admission charges for the coming season, leaving them at £5 for adults and £2 for senior citizens and juveniles for Super League matches and the D.J. Laing League Cup.
