THE LYDIAN Singers will present a concert in St Vigeans Church next Friday (November 9). Their guest baritone will be Australian Blake Parham.
A well-established ladies’ choir, the Lydian Singers are conducted by Helen M. Addison and their accompanist is Helen Boyle.
Based in Dundee, their Christmas and Spring Concerts in the Marryat Hall attract full audiences. They also sing at various other venues in the city and the surrounding area and a smaller group of soloists entertain at afternoon gatherings.
The programme for St Vigeans will be a light-hearted mixture which will include Strauss, Humperdinck, Brahms, Scots songs, spirituals and songs from the musicals.
Guest baritone Blake Parham is at present touring England and Scotland, giving performances of a range of Gilbert and Sullivan, Mozart to Copland.
Tickets priced at £8 are available from church members and at the door. Refreshments will be served in the hall after the concert.
