Annual art show at the library

It is that time of year again when Arbroath Art Society invites the public to come and view the products of their imaginations.

Tomorrow (Saturday) morning members and guests will attend a special viewing of the exhibition in Arbroath Library’s gallery from 10.30 a.m. before the doors are opened to the public at 12 noon.

The exhibition of work will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until September 14.

This year 28 members of Arbroath Art Society are exhibiting and a profusion of styles, mediums and subjects are on offer.

Landscapes are very well represented and the subjects range from fishing scenes at Auchmithie to more exotic locales such as Venice or Mount Everest which provided the theme for the society’s internal art competition.

The exhibiting artists can be rightly pleased with their efforts and there is bound to be something in oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels or even lino cut to suit their audiences’ palette.

Arbroath Art Society is always keen to recruit more members with an interest in the arts and anyone interested is encouraged to ask for information at the exhibition or alternatively attend one of their regular Friday meetings in the Old Abbey Church hall which commence on October 4 at 7.30 p.m.
