Keeping it in the family

CARNOUSTIE Library will host a father and daughter joint art exhibition from tomorrow (Saturday).

Local artists Carole Storm and Richard Gibson’s exhibition will run in the gallery for three weeks and covers a wide range of subjects and mediums.

Carole graduated in printed textiles from Duncan of Jordanstone and her love of texture and colour is apparent in much of her work.

Her contribution covers work spanning a number of years and exhibits her inquisitive and experimental approach to her art.

She has in the past utilised papier mache, stained glass, fabirc, weaving, wood and mosaics, and is currently working with paper, fabric and metal.

Her father Richard has only recently started developing artistic tendencies which have been apparent from a young age.

He is currently studying for his HNC in Contemporary Art Practice at Angus College.

For the last 30 years Richard’s artistic expression has found an outlet in designing and painting award winning sets for Carnoustie Theatre Club.

Much of Richard’s work is figurative, concentrating on people or portraits.

This exhibition contains most of his work over three years in the areas of portraiture and imaginative story telling.

Richard works on canvas and board using acrylics, marker, pen and ink.
