Lively month at Monifieth library

There are a few interesting events happening in Monifieth Library during November.

Firstly, there will be a book sale during normal opening hours and will run from Monday to Saturday, November 10 to 29.

If you’ve ever thought about joining the monthly reminiscence group, Reflections, but never had the time then November would be a good month to start. The theme this month is … a surprise! Staff from Signal Tower Museum in Arbroath have kindly sent along a mystery box filled with artefacts and library staff are under strict instructions to leave the box unopened until the meeting on Monday, November 17. Come along at 2.30 p.m. and help solve the riddle of the mystery box.

Lastly, Book Week Scotland is fast approaching. Between November 24 and 30, events will be happening in libraries all over Scotland and Angus is thrilled to announce a fantastic programme for 2014.

Every Angus library will have an event and Monifieth is delighted to welcome Derek Meikleham on Friday, November 28, at 2.30 p.m. for ‘Nostalgia’s No What It Used To Be’, a humorous reminiscence in verse looking at old Dundee. Tickets are free, so pop into the library or call 01382 533819 to reserve a place. You can also pick up a programme of details of all events taking place in Angus throughout the week.
