Open day at Balmossie Fire Station

A MONIFIETH fire station is giving the public a rare chance to see them in action first hand.

At Balmossie Fire Station on Sunday, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. the crew will be holding a series of demonstrations on how they would tackle different incidents.

For example, at 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. they will fight chip pan fires, at 12.30 p.m. they will rescue someone from a car and at 1.30 p.m. they will demonstrate a line rescue.

On display on the day will be a selection of rescue appliances and support vehicles and the event is also supported by Tayside Police, Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Play Bus.

Visitors are encouraged to walk or take public transport to the event to help the environment and those driving should note that there is no parking available at the station itself.
