What’s on offer at Monifieth Library

Monifieth Library is reminding borrowers that even though they got new books for Christmas their local library still has plenty to offer.

The little ones are always welcome to the weekly Bookbug sessions, which are free and full of stories, books and rhymes.

There are different sessions to cater for babies, toddlers and under-fives.

Older children can join the monthly Chatterbooks group which hosts activities such as book talks and author visits.

Adults are also catered for with two book groups which meet in the Milton Inn on Grange Road, Monifieth.

Each month a different member picks a book introducing you to authors you might not normally read.

Monifieth Memories is a reminiscence group aimed at retired people and gives them a chance to discuss the good old days over a cup of tea and a biscuit.

The library also offers free access via your library card to the learning centre equipped with computers, Internet access, scanner and printing facilities.

New for 2013 is a course on using the iPad thanks to funding from the Scottish Government Public Libraries Improvement Fund.

The learning centre also has a small selection of daily newspapers, a study area and the ever popular Monifieth Model.

For more information on any of the above contact the library on 01382 533819 or email monifieth.library@angus.gov.uk.
