THE CARNOUSTIE and District Pipe Band held their annual ceilidh and awards night at the Station Hotel on Saturday.
The prize for the most improved learner piper went to Owen Sweeney and the most improved learner drummer was Dhugal Paterson. The most improved piper and drummer in the band were Kieran Roberts and Kerrie Devlin, respectively.
For the first time, a prize for the best member of the bass section was awarded and this went to Ian Menzies. He received a new trophy kindly donated by Paul McAndrew, the tutor of the bass section.
A special award was also presented to George Black for his tremendous contributions to the band. Members went on to enjoy a great night of entertainment, with music from The Rosely Ceilidh band with contributions from pipe band members themselves.
Members of the band’s fund-raising committee organised the event. Thanks were extended to David Murray Transport and the Angus Trophy Centre for their support throughout the year.
