A CARNOUSTIE pub is preparing to open its doors this weekend for their third annual Springfest.

Springfest 2012 at the Kinloch Arms Hotel kicks off tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2.30 p.m. with music from ‘Independence’, just one of the 13 acts booked to play during what promises to be another exciting weekend of live music.

The music is scheduled to last from 2.30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 3 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

As expected, Springfest has several interesting alcoholic treats lined up for the adventurous reveller, from English cider to Continental lagers and fruit biers.

Also available are cocktails and flavoured vodkas of all descriptions courtesy of the Famous Smirnoff Vodka Bar crew.

Kinloch Arms proprietor Jonathon MacInally is excited to see what Smirnoff have to offer. He said: “They’ve got their own bar staff and trained mixologists. It’s something I’ve never seen before and I believe it’s going to be very, very good.”

Even the questionable weather lately should not make an impact on the festivities. Jonathon added: “We’re hoping and praying for the weather, but if not we have a huge marquee in the car park.”

Day tickets are priced at £5 for an adult and 50p for a child and are available from the Kinloch Arms Hotel or from Grouchos in Dundee.
