As another summer comes to a close panto season approaches and rehearsals for Carnoustie Theatre’s Club’s offering are in full swing.
‘Once Upon A Time’ has all the hallmarks of classic panto. Cinderella’s daughter, Princess Lottie, is about to marry Snow White’s son, Prince Marvellous, fulfilling an ancient prophecy to banish evil from Pantoland.
Naturally, the villains of the land do not take kindly to this and the wicked witch Evelyn sets a dastardly plan in motion to separate the lovebirds and doom the impending nuptials.
After abducting the princess and her hopeless helpers Nick and Nack from the palace, Evelyn strands them on the very edge of Pantoland.
The prince leaps into action and launches a rescue mission, but what will his long and dangerous trip have in store for him?
Due to popular demand the producers have allowed for an extra matinee performance which will take place on Sunday, December 1.
There will be no performance on Monday, December 2, due to the St Andrew’s Day public holiday.
However performances will resume on Tuesday, December 3, and will run to Saturday, December 7, which has both a matinee and an evening show.
Carnoustie Theatre Club is always keen to support community groups making advance bookings, such as Rainbows, Brownies and Cubs, and this year they would like to invite other community groups to take advantage of this opportunity.
Any clubs or organisations interested in registering for advanced booking privileges should contact David Cheape on 01241 856140 as soon as possible to ensure they secure tickets for their chosen night.
A spokesperson for Carnoustie Theatre Club said: “It doesn’t matter what your club or society’s interest is, the panto always makes for a good Christmas night out for any group no matter what the age of its members.
“Once tickets go on public sale, they always sell out fast so don’t delay!”
