Angus DofE Unit seeking new recruits
Established in 1956, the award – progressing through bronze, silver and gold levels – helps those between the ages of 14 and 25 through a series of self-improvement exercises across a number of categories.
And The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Angus Open Unit now wants to hear from young people in the county keen to attain an award of their own.

Having reached the summit of that module, it wants to recruit more young people at all levels of the Award.
The programmes take between one and four years to complete, and must be completed by the participant's 25th birthday.
Those taking part select and set their own objectives in volunteering, a physical challenge, skills development and expedition.

An Angus Council spokesperson said: “The benefits of participating in and achieving a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are well-documented.
"It’s great fun, offers the chance to meet people from all backgrounds and make lasting friendships, enjoy new experiences and gain life skills that employers value.
"The DofE Award helps young people to become more confident, independent people and along the way gather memories that will last a lifetime.
