Montrose back into the winning groove

Montrose bounced back to winning ways at the weekend by going nap and thumping Clyde 5-0.

Stewart Petrie’s side ended a run of a few weekends without securing all three points in emphatic style, a Lewis Milne double adding to a Conrad Balatoni own goal plus efforts from Cameron Ballantyne and Craig Johnston.

It was a win which now sets Mo up for an exciting Saturday meeting with East Fife who recorded a much needed win of their own at the weekend, beating Cove Rangers 4-2 at Bayview.

The Links Park club has this weekend announced that, after many years of dedication on many fronts, Anne Kenny has decided to take a step back from her day-to-day involvement.

Having been involved in organising pitch hires, running the club shop, being an active member of the fundraising committee, undertaking a child protection role, overseeing matchday hospitality staff, holding the club bar licence, providing buffets and organising many a private function, Anne’s involvement saw her regularly spending more time at Links Park than in her own home.

With changing work commitments and having recently become a gran, something clearly had to give, and everyone at Montrose FC will miss her ever presence.

Chairman John Crawford said, “Everyone at Montrose FC is very appreciative and grateful for all Anne’s hard work and efforts, and we wish her well in your new work role and hope she gets to spent lots more time being a doting g ranny.”
